  1. Sri Lanka are sitting at 151/2 at the 33rd over. The run rate is increasing. They should be able to push up to a score in the high 200s i’m guessing. I’m not sure England’s batting is good enough to catch up if Sri Lanka’s batting holds up. Tharanga got off to a slow start, but looks to be reaching his stride now. Sri Lanka lost their two best batsman -- arguably -- but they have such a strong team that you really can't count them out till they are 6 wickets down. And even then Vaas can hit the ball when he really needs to. Update: Tharanga is out! Silva is up.

  2. “Now, this will put the brakes on Sri Lanka’s innings a touch.”

Lets see if Silva and Dilshan can prove them wrong. Sri Lanka are 175/4. They’ve lost two big wickets in Tharanga and their Captain, but I think their batting line up is strong enough it won’t matter much.

  3. Dis, it looks like it did in fact totally put the brakes on Sri Lanka’s innings. Sri Lanka are at 219/7, with a couple overs left to play.

  4. Vaas opens the second inning allowing only 1 run in the first over. Malinga bowls a maiden. And then Vaas gets Vaugn out in the 3rd! Sri Lanka are going to kick ass.

  5. Pietersen is gone now too. He was playing an excellent game, but fell for some of Muralitharan’s suburb bowling tricks. England were looking fairly good till this point, but they might be in rough straits now.

  6. 2 wickets from Fernando in the 33rd over look to seal the deal for England.

  7. Nixon and Bopara are keeping England’s hopes alive. The last few overs have been brilliant from them. They now need need 32 runs from 18 balls. 3 overs left, with Murali and Malinga both able to bowl.

  8. what is going on with these last few overs? !

  9. Malinga just got a wicket! Thank you Jesus. Fernando is bowling the last over. England need 12.

Nixon and Bopora really deserve a hand; they certainly looked poised to get incredibly close to the posted total. England played a pretty good game, much better than I thought they would.

  10. Bopara is a beast. 5 runs from 3 balls now.

  11. lol this is absurd…jesus

  12. whew

  13. Fernando bowls out Bopara to end the game! That was a CRAZY game. Holy shit. I can’t believe it got that close.
