"Without meaning in any way to endorse harassment or the use of racial slurs, I would suggest the strong response to Wear a Hijab Day might have something to do with this obscure event [9/11]." ⇒

All hate directed towards anything at all Muslim is apparently justified by 9/11. Asking women to wear veils for a day is provocative. Good things to know. (Also, presumably the vandalism was done by educated university students? That's just lame.

My comment is only regarding Ramanan’s comment, I don’t know the details of this incident.
Is Muslim = Race? What about family members who are not religious, are they still Muslim. (Partly a question, partly a statement.)
I don’t like organized religion of any kind, so if the Hijab’s are part of organized religion, then I couldn’t support them in anyway. Just as I couldn’t support a religious fund raiser, buy a cross day or church socials.
I’m SO against if people were discriminated because they are brown, white, black or any color. If it’s cause they are some religion, ya, go nuts.

Ah yes, my use of racism is wrong here. It’s just good old fashioned ignorance.

Follow-up from Michael on the post. Briefly, Muslims aren’t a victimized group. Michael reaches this conclusion because some Muslims flew planes into the World Trade Centre. Still, he feels confident that Muslims aren’t victimized. Yeah.
Also, every day in Canada is Christian Solidarity Day. Every month is White History month.
