A painting of me

Two police officers pleaded guilty Thursday to manslaughter in the shooting death of a 92-year-old woman during a botched drug raid last fall. ⇒

These raids are a fairly big problem in the US. The police fuck them up all the time it would seem.

  1. I’ve always thought there should be more people watching the cops. There isn’t a good system of checks and balances that are preventative, only reactive.

As an auditor, I don’t see why Police don’t have to be worried that someone will stop THEM for going through a light w/ a siren for no emergency. Or that someone will arrest them for inappropriate behavior or excessive violence. If they knew that there were random people that would get them fired or otherwise reprimanded, they would follow the laws like they are supposed to.

  2. Reason has a good article on this as well.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
