Mexican Coke: The Real Thing? ⇒

   5 May 2007, late morning

Mexican Coke is made with real sugar, rather than corn syrup, and its being smuggled into the States.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

Comments

  1. ‘Costco is Selling Mexican Coke!’

  2. There’s a store on College that sells Latin-American soft drinks. There are probably a few other stores around as well.

  3. Do we? I don’t recall seeing corn syrup on the ingedients lists here now that you mention it. If that’s the case, I wonder what American coke tastes like.

  4. from a can from a case purchased here: carbonated water, sugar/glucose-fructose, caramel colour, phosphoric acid, natural flavours, caffeine.

  5. I bought a bottle of AriZona “southern style sweet tea” today. Obviously it was sweet, but it was a strange sweetness that reminded me of cane sugar. The ingredients list “high fructose corn syrup” but not specifically sugar. Hopefully American Coke isn’t sweet in this way, it seems like it would be disgusting.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
