Engadget cost Apple $4B, for a little while, anyway. ⇒
17 May 2007, early morning
Engadget posted a "scoop" that the iPhone and Leopard were both delayed. This "scoop" came from an email leaked from Apple. Turns out the email was a hoax, but by the time they posted there correction people were selling Apple stock like it was going out of fashion. If you sold your stock like a dumbass because of something you read on Engadget, i'm not sure I have much sympathy for you.
