Lydon Johnson was ultimately brought down by the Viet Nam war, but at least he is remembered fondly for the good he did for social justice in America. When Bush leaves office with an approval rating that will make Nixon's look awesome, he will really have done nothing worthwhile during his 8 years in office. America isn't any more safe than it was prior to his run in office -- it's probably less safe now.
