  1. Guiliani was quoted on “The Daily Show” as saying that if this is a one-issue campaign, then that issue is homeland security.

“And if this is a two-issue campaign,” Stewart responded, “I’m going to lose.”

  2. I love this quote too: All the places that have government-run health care, it’s inferior to us.

Someone needs to tell Guiliani that:

    - The US has lower quality health care than the rest of the developed World

    - The US has more expensive health care than the rest of the developed World

    - The US is the only developed country without universal health care.

I really don’t understand how Americans implicitly assume that US is equivalent to #1.

  3. Politicians just say whatever they want: it just needs to sound good. If you repeat something again and again people start to believe it’s true. I’m pretty sure that’s a common way to disseminate propaganda.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
