  1. This is a huge obsession of mine. I’ve lost 30lbs. since April, and am a huge fitness junkie anyway.

    I still point people to johnstonefitness.com when they ask things like this. It’s a great place to start, especially the Beginner forums there.

  2. That dude comes up in the thread as well. The couch to 5k running plan sounds interesting. I have running shoes now so I was going to start running.

  3. I no longer equate fitness with running. I lost 45lbs. in 2002, and a lot of that was running, but a lot of it was lifting. For me, running mostly means injuries and wear and tear on my body. If you have the body mechanics for it, it’s great. I miss being able to run – I found it a very meditative experience. But my body says no.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
