  1. hmm this reminds me of my beef with Serra, the restaurant that projects their logo onto the sidewalk on Bloor West near Spadina. Initially I thought it was quite cool, but then I started thinking about how unfair it is that an acquaintance of mine who owns a small mom-and-pop style restaurant at st. clair got fined because his lunch time A-frame menu was 3 inches too far into the sidewalk (apparently he gets to display ads 3 ft into the side walk away from his store).

    I doubt that Serra pays anything for projecting their ads onto the sidewalk…does that mean anything that doesn’t physically block the sidewalk is fair game?

  2. CBC is advertising Intelligence Season 2 with sidewalk stickers. It’s equally obnoxious, and probably illegal. I’ll post a photo tonight.

  3. I first saw those on newspaper boxes a couple months ago. I guess they printed too many stickers.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
