I expect these guys are going to get sued.

  1. haha, that’s crazy… even their marketing (i.e. the silhouette) is cloned :S

    they’re asking for it :P

  2. See the second photo in this post.

Apple doesn’t have a monopoly or precedence in tampon look-alike form factor.

But this Taiwanese clone has added couple of useful features, so I will let them slide. Rest assured, Apple won’t.

  3. I don’t think Apple is the only company out there allowed to make things shaped like thumb drives, but this is a pretty blatant rip-off. The controls are identical, both on the front and back of the device. And it’s called the Super Shuffle. And the advertising is identical. Mind you, it apparently has more features. I wonder if it works with iTunes.

  4. Yeah, I know..it looks the same. If they called themselves resellers (standard Shufle with extra features), they would prolly be legit. This way, they are just begging to be sued. And they are taking it to one of biggest tech shows out there. The logic behind this is completely outrageous.

  5. Actually, no. Calling themselves resellers wouldn’t be legit either, since they’re not buying it from Apple and reselling it.

  6. No, what I meant is buying it, adding the features, and selling it would prolly be legit. They are not doing any of that. So basically they are begging to be sued.

Is this for real though? Any possibility of this being a fake? They can’t possibly be this moronic?

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
