A painting of me

The Mexican Suitcase. ⇒

   31 January 2008, mid-morning

I was waiting for this to show up on MetaFilter. Next time I'll just post it myself. Basically, "thousands of negatives of photographs taken by Robert Capa during the Spanish Civil War, long thought to be lost forever, have resurfaced in Mexico." Update: I linked to a triple post, I guess I missed it when it was linked a few days back.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. of course the interesting tidbit from this is the possibility of ‘the fallen soldier’ not being by capa but his companion. and the likely chance that it was staged! war photographers and their “crimes” are a source of much controversy and speculation!

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
