Teaching the Kids Safety. ⇒

15 March 2005, the wee hours

"While teaching kids gun safety and stating he is the only one professional enough to handle the gun a DEA officer manages to shoot himself in the leg. He then just asks if everybody is ok and goes on with the demonstration like nothing happened." If that doesn't make you want to watch this movie, I don't know what will. 1. That just… totally made my night. “Put it down! Put it down! We mean it!”

  2. I have to commend the guy for trying to go on. He’s just trying to educate the youth of America. I wonder if the fact he shot himself is a better deterrent then anything he said would have been.

  3. Do you really? I think it’s pretty stupid that he tried to continue. Accidentally shooting yourself and then pretendnig like nothing happened is not a good way to educate people about firearm safety. He should have told the kids that he needs to go to the hospital because he just shot himself.

  4. I just have to respect someone who can continue a presentation after being shot. I mean, that’s really something you can put on your resume.

  5. I’m impressed that he could still stand.

  6. I guess that’s how you get in to the DEA. They don’t just take any punk-cop. And yes, I suppose the more sensible thing to do would be to stop, but to be fair, he did just get shot. I’m sure he wasn’t thinking clearly.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
