A painting of me

I believe that literature is working, even amidst this chaos, with a power that can change the world. ⇒

  1. A coworker of mine is always talking to me about Murakami. Today I went out and bought three of his novels after reading that interview. I have read one of his short stories, and it stood out to me as being decidedly strange, and decidedly engrossing. I am looking forward to some more of his surrealist, weird ass writing.

  2. I’ve read Norwegian Wood, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles, and South of the Border, West of the Sun. I like Norwegian Wood the best of the three, and found The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles a bit too surreal for my tastes, but all in all he’s a very good writer.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
