Weird, I totally wouldn’t have expected you ever to have heard of Bob Sapp. So let me ask, how do you know of him? What do you think of when you think of him? Is it because of your connections to Japanese pop culture?

Yah, he’s famous in Japan. My cousin mentioned him when I was over in Tokyo. I’ve seen him on some game show clips as well.

Okay, that’s what I figured. How odd. I know of him through the mixed martial arts and kickboxing scene. Sapp has been in a lot of freakshow fights, which are considered less legitimate than competitively matched bouts, but the Japanese LOVE them. Watching Mirko Cro Cop break Sapp’s orbital with a left hook was pretty sweet. Sapp curled up on the ground fetal and cried like a baby.
But yeah. I was just surprised to see him mentioned here.

The best is his music cd’s with the Sapp Time song.
Bob Sapp vs Morning Musume is the best though.
He worked for a period of time at a mortician after he lost his job wrestling. I remember reading about that in an interview he did a while ago.
