Buy DRM-free songs from the iTunes Music Store. ⇒

This is a very impressive hack.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. And very illegal.

  2. Oh, no doubt. I would hope the script writers have taken this into account. I imagine the packets being sent back and forth are identical to those being sent by iTunes, save that the crucial step where the DRM is applied to the song is skipped.

  3. Thats the most interesting point. DRM is added after you make the purchase. That seems very shady.

I have to admit, its very nifty. And you can’t target him as a thief. He is not subverting iTMS for free songs, just making sure they are DRM free. You have to give him props for idealism.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
