Game theory explains dinner-party dates. ⇒

Here is my theory for why as I get older I know more single girls than guys, while in my early 20s (and in high school) the reverse was true. Many men will date and marry women younger than them, while the reverse is generally not true. So, if you are a woman in your 20s, you are being perused by men your own age, and men older than you. The competition for 20-something women is going to be fierce. It's not a good time to be a guy, but if you are a girl you're golden. Things flip when women reach their 30s. Most 30 year old women aren't interested in 20-something year old guys. As such, their options are going to be other men in their 30s, or people older still. My guess is that the number of bachelors in their 40s and 50s isn't too high. As noted before, these women are competing with 20-something year old women for the same pool of 30-something men. So women in their 30s are in the same situation as men in their 20s. Am I brilliant? This link was found via Sepia Mutiny.

So what you’re saying is there is a chance.

You got to keep the faith. Also, women in their 30s are so damn hot.
