On the plus side, taking photos like it’s an SLR could force you to take better photos instead of lots of photos.

True. But part of the appeal with digital is that you can snap like 15 shots in a row and get the one that is absolutely perfect. I mean, I can still do that now I suppose. I think it’ll be interesting actually. I think I’ll need to invest in a bigger memory card though. Although, I have no way of knowing when I have run out of space—I think.
