Wired News: China, India: Rule Global Tech? ⇒

   11 April 2005, early afternoon

Seems like a reasonable thing to do. I expect to see some serious bitching in the Slashdot thread for this story. This link was found via Slashdot.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. Overall it may seem like a good partnership but I am wary about the Chinese.

Their territorial ambitions will not cease. It would also fly against the friendship with Tibettan exiles in Dharamshala.

But I am afraid that it would probably happen. Most of the politicians in India have socialist tendencies. I think India is probably the only democracy that has a communist party.

I also don’t like their recent partnership with Russia. The idea is that Indian money + Russian knowledge and factories (which are closed due to lack of funds) = new conventional arms that can be sold in Asia. Yes, India could very well become one of the biggest arms dealers.

    Sound economics, bad form.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
