The Most Difficult Games Of All Time? ⇒

   15 August 2008, early afternoon

I haven't played a few of these, so I'm not sure if they rank. Battletoads is fucking crazy though, so I'm not sure what the Kotaku dude is complaining.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. man castlevania isn’t that hard. I remember Nathan at school was able to beat it no problem. And people are getting too soft when they think devil may cry 3 was too hard. Kids these days just want to sit in front of a game for 3 hours and finish it so they can go buy another.
And finally, battletoads was hard, but not impossible. In fact, I would say that it was easier than a few of the other games listed in this ‘top 10’.

Even the original lunar lander was harder than some of these games.

    Ikaruga is hard though.

  2. I don’t think my brother and I could ever finish Battletoads, and we played it a lot. I can’t remember which level we’d die on though. There were so many crazy ass levels near the end. That said, Krishna also thinks it should be lower in that list. What games do you think should be higher?

Ninja Gaiden we finished, but when my brother played it again on an NES emulator he was saying he had no idea how we did it when we were kids, the game is totally insane.

I also thought Devil May Cry 3 sounded suspect. I didn’t think they made stupid hard games anymore. Same with f-zero. How’d that make the cut.

  3. jebus. Ikaruga. Probably the only game where I ever died on the INTRO to a stage.

  4. Battletoads I don’t recall being totally insane. I doubt devil may cry 3 can be that intense. And same with F-Zero, its just a racing game, how crazy can it possibly be.

Contra I thought should be higher up, contra was bloody crazy.

Man I want to play Ikaruga though, reminds me of rRootage.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
