2 Fast 2 Furious
19 July 2004, early evening
2 Fast 2 Furious was a whole other kind of suck. I’m not sure if 2 Fast 2 Furious is as bad as its predecessor, the Fast and the Furious. The sequel stars Eva Mendez, who is hot, so that is at least one plus for the film. I mean, the first one was bad, but at least it had lots of souped up cars. This one has almost no cars or car chases. Even the plot is lamer, if you can believe that.
Those movies never really appealed to me much, mainly because it looked like it was just a movie to show off some cheesy effects and cars.
Now I definitely won’t waste my time and money renting this one…

I was one of those idiots who wasted my time and money on “Fast And Furious,” groaned about it, then wasted more time and money on “2 Fast 2 Furious.” I think they call that a “glutton for punishment.”
Eva Mendez is great-looking, though. Kinda reminds me of a poor man’s Gina Gershon. :-)

Yeah, I paid good money to see the first one. I knew it would be bad, but I didn’t know how bad. The first one has all those classic lines though, which are fun to laugh about. The second one was playing on satellite. I knew better then to go out and see it. Though I can never get those hours of my life back I suppose.

I live my life a quarter mile at a time, man!
it’s a shame that my initials are VD though… or perhaps more appropriate than anything else.

i thought the second one was great. it was like a live-action video game. i think they were successful in creating a super exaggerated world which perfectly mimicked cheesy car video games. when you think about it, it’s not even that far off from the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto series. i thought it was hilarious, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. i don’t really understand how people experiment with these movies. either you like them or you don’t, and nine times out of ten, you know the answer going in. regardless, if you’re going to “give it a go,” do it at morningside cinemas, for the proper experience.

Attention, this is the real Vin Diesel:
I already got my recognition at the Sundance festival. Spielberg already wrote me into one of his movies. I have my credibility. Like it or not, movies like 2F2F pay the bills. Mostly because idiots like you waste your money on it.

I loved you in the Iron Giant, Vin. Truly a performance of a lifetime.
