  1. This is really one of the most depressing aspects of the bombings. For all the rhetoric that’s come out of London and the United States about not letting terrorism affect everyday life, one of the most negative effects of these attacks always seems to be the undercurrent of racism coming to the forefront.

    My girlfriend’s from London, and we’ve been following these attacks and the investigations pretty closely. The race-based hate crimes are far and away her biggest concern.
