Digital photography is awesome because you can snap a bunch of photos and no worry about film costs.
This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.
she’s got such nice form! i wonder if people who do that would be good divers?

Actually her form is kind of bad. This is hilarious, um, I am actually a trampolinist. Like, really. This is my gym and this is the trampoline show company I work for. Many divers practice on trampolines, and many of the trampolinists I know dive. Trampoline tends to bring together gymnasts, skiers, snowboarders, divers, cheerleaders, and sometimes dancers. It is the center of my life and the greatest joy I have ever had.

I don’t think anyone saw that coming.
Just curious, how does one get into trampolin…ing?

Actually for me it was a coincidence. There was an all-trampoline gym on the way to my high school and I never knew what it was. Turns out my girlfriend at the end of high school/beginning of college had gone there when she was younger and decided to go back, and I went once. next day my skin was burned off my hands, my neck and back, arms and legs ached in ways I didn’t know they could, and an addiction was born. Most of our bouncers get into it because we have birthday parties and field trips at our gym, and they come for a party and fall in love. We also get a lot of former gymnasts. I had run the UConn (University of Connecticut) Trampoline Club and the majority of participants were former gymnasts, others were people who liked trampolines or who wanted to get a good workout in a fun way. The joy of trampoline is that it works your whole body with little impact, it’s social, and there is always something new to learn. It’s not one foot in front of the others thousands of times, like running.
Anyway, for me the answer is: date a trampolinist. For most it’s: do gymnastics. It’s a growing sport in the US, it’s much bigger in Canada and in Europe. Our gym is, we believe, the only all-trampoline gym in the United States. We have ten Olympic-sized tramps.
So yeah. Many of our people go to Toronto to train. Matt Turgeon, the Canadian Olympic Bronze Medalist, is coming to our gym this weekend for the grand opening of our new facility and is in a show for my trampoline show company on Sunday. If you ever get a chance to see him or to visit the gym in Toronto, do it.

For the record: I totally saw this coming.

We have ten Olympic-sized tramps.
am I the only one who found this sentence hilarious?

They are 7’x14’. Olympic regulation. You say Olympic sized pool, no? A trampooline the size of Olympus would be marvelous. I could do a rudy over the moon…

Olympic sized pools are too long… I don’t think I could do many lamps in any of those.. ha ha.. I like the little baby-sized pools best.
Ben, I didn’t know you were a trampolinist! That’s neat!

Ben: it was more the abbreviation (which I’m sure has become natural to you) that I found amusing.

Oh, ha. Yeah. Because I become so verbose when trampoline is mentioned and try to get everyone to try it, I have come to call myself a “tramp whore”. There is a quick and dirty film clip of highlights from our show this past Sunday here. I am in it only briefly because this clip is intended to highlight Matt Turgeon, the Canadian (from Toronto) Bronze Medal winner from the Sydney Olympics.
