The Elements of Typographic Style Applied to the Web. ⇒

   8 December 2005, mid-afternoon

The Elements of Typographic Style is an excellent book. This web site is also, very good. The site's creator has done a good job applying the suggestions in the book to a web setting. For example, as much as everyone likes justified text, justified text on the web is ugly, and as such should be avoided till the technology exists to justify text properly in a web browser. I was planning on fixing the typography on this site at some point, as there are many things here I am not too happy with.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

Comments

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
