The Globe and Mail: Passport saved Canadian hostage. ⇒
16 March 2006, early afternoon
"It's wonderful to have a Canadian passport because it changes people's minds. One of the guards kept asking me to say hello to Canada, so it does stand for something."
This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.
If Blair is going to keep hanging around with Bush, I should seriously consider getting a Canadian passport.

I have a British passport as well (because they last 10 years as opposed to Canada’s 5) and my dad is always on my ass to get a Canadian one, but he really hates England, so I don’t pay much attention.

At the very least, you can use the short lines to get into the EU, right? That’s worth something.

I thought you knew I was a British citizen? Yes, I have all the free Visas I want for most of Europe now. I guess I haven’t left to live there because I like Canada more. (I think my dad being a one-man hate-a-thon when it comes to the UK all these years has probably had some effect on me as well.)
