The Globe and Mail: Bush reaffirms pre-emptive war doctrine ⇒
16 March 2006, early afternoon
Bush is still a dumb-ass war-monger who can't admit he's wrong.
This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.
“The report is laden with strategies for advancing democracy across the globe, a theme of Bush’s second inaugural address. The president said his administration was advancing this goal by (...) using foreign aid to support (...) women’s rights”
Can we use foreign aid to let women have abortions in South Dakota?

If only. Though I think Bush would argue that if God wanted women to have abortions he would have given them coat hangers for fingers.

Without trying to express any personal opinion regarding right or wrong, I think the issue is whether or not a woman’s right to choose should supersede the unborn child’s right to live. I do not think the issue is whether or not you are a crazy right-wing Christian extremist.
That said, I think Bush would probably argue that if “God” wanted an unborn baby to die, then there would be a miscarriage.

I think for Bush and the South Dakota state government it a Christian issue. You don’t think so? (I’m not trying to say everyone who thinks women shouldn’t be allowed to have control of their own body's is by default a right-wing Christian.)

I think for them you may be able to categorize it as a religious issue, but I think they are just rephrasing the same question—should a human be allowed to do “God’s work”?
Regardless, I wouldn’t have said anything if not for the “coat hangers for fingers” comment. I think that was just too much for me.

Yeah. I suppose I’m just being crass.

We do God’s work every time we take penicillin.
