I can't believe I'm linking to something written by someone from the Ayn Rand institute. (I swear I'm still an ideologue.) I don't agree with everything Schwartz has to say mind you, but this notion that all there is to a democracy is voting is both simple and stupid. This is the fundamental problem in Sri Lanka, and any "democratic" country where majority rule trumps the rights of the minority.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
