Naina Ramajayan's first post on Sepia Mutiny is really good. And she's right: as South-Indian names go, Naina's is pretty tame. I want to give my children long crippling Tamil names that build character.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. It’s the last names as much as the first. At work, where I deal with a lot of tamil names, the longest last name i’ve come across was ~28 letters.

I’m all for keeping tamil names around but sometimes it gets a bit ridiculous.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
