Ugh, they are having so much trouble with that vaccine in this country. The religious Right is under the impression that vaccinating girls for HPV, which may help prevent cervical cancer, is somehow condoning sexual promiscuity. Fucking idiots.

Yeah, I noticed the Religious Right don’t think things through very often. Though, i’m guessing they think its better a girl dies of cervical cancer than continues living her life of sin. Seconding the Fucking Idiots.

Are we surprised, though? Sadly, I’m most definitely not. I’d only have been if they weren’t so uptight about it (“Who are you, and what have you done with our religious freaks?!”).
My personal concern is the safety of the vaccine (“safe” as any/all vaccines go): has it really been tested long enough to warrant unleashing it on the general public? nevermind mandating it for adolescents, like several US states want to do? I wouldn’t get the vaccination until I was fully satisfied on that point (I’m just within the age bracket it is for). It’s really easy to go bezerk in the other direction on this: rushing to use it out of fear, without taking the time to find out if it won’t make things as bad or worse.
