Test Of The Danforth. ⇒

   13 August 2007, late morning

A criticism of the Taste of the Danforth. (It's actually pretty easy to make fun of the festival.)

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. I found the festival pretty bad. It was super packed and like 1/2 the stands weren’t food stands and a lot of the food were just gyro’s and or souvlaki. In the end I went back to scarborough and got a mcchicken.

  2. Isn’t that how it is every year anyways? It’s like “Go to Taste of Danforth. Get some meat on a stick, or in a bun/pita. Get a free sample from [insert coffee shop that is trying to promote their brand using a temporary stand giving/selling chilled coffee drinks here]. Get a corn on the cob. Get an ice cream from the baskin robins. Go home.

It’s been like that for me the last 3 times I’ve been (didn’t go this year).

They have Taste of Edmonton in Edmonton lol. It’s in the middle of a community concrete park and there were like 100+ different vendors selling different types of food. Though I guess they’re not really the same thing.

  3. Yeah it’s been like that every year I’ve been. The article is just kind of pointing out that the festival’s popularity makes no sense. Going to the Danforth on any other day of the year would be more satisfying.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
