A painting of me

Alarm Clocks

   5 September 2007, lunch time

Till I get my Chumby, these two Alarm Clock programs look pretty sweet: Alarm Clock and Aurora.

  1. i stopped using an alarm clock about a year ago. i just wake up whenever my body wants too or from noise on my street.

this ranks in the top 10 of best decisions i’ve ever made.

  2. I used to get up, turn my alarm clock off in the morning when it went off, and then not remember doing it after I’d slept in 3 or 4 hours. Dangerous.

  3. I stopped using snooze or anything. My alarm turns on to NPR and I immediately get out of bed. That last few minutes of sleep was never good. It was always that panicked, “Oh shit did I sleep too late?” kind of sleep.

My life is much better now that I just get up, and most days I wake up a minute before my alarm anyway and turn it off before it goes off.

  4. For a very long time I’d wake up before my alarm went off. I think this was because my alarm scared the shit out of me, and waking up before it went off was my bodies way of dealing with that. Now that my alarm is out of reach on the floor, I find I don’t wake up before it any longer.

If I woke up when my body wanted me to I’d stay in bed 14 hours a day.

  5. hey tyler, some of us have jobs to wake up for.

    hippie.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
